Produced predominantly from Glera grapes in north eastern Italy, Prosecco is Italy’s most popular sparkling wine. Light and fruity, it’s great at a picnic, served with fresh sliced melon. This is a terrific example with ripe creamy fruit sweetness balanced by delightful acidity. In your mouth it’s textural with grapefruit and honeydew melon flavours, the touch of sweetness ending in a long dry finish.
This is an Italian wine that pairs well with seafood and cheeses and cured meats. The dryer styles are brilliant with canapés (nibbles) and antipasti boards (olives, chutneys, cured meats) while the sweeter Prosecco work well with fresh fruits, raspberries, figs and ham as well as cake! Pair with cheeses like mozzarella and feta.
